CES 2017 HIGHLIGHTS

The digital health trajectory continues, and the market is now expected to reach $233 billion by 2020. The biggest driver of that change is the mobile health market. Plus, massive amounts of data stored in the cloud are being analyzed to provide answers to some of medicine’s most vexing problems.

The Digital Health Summit @ CES 2017 surpassed all our expectations. Exhibit floor was completely packed and filled with technologies spanning the entire spectrum of healthcare including the latest drug delivery innovations for providers, revolutionary shoe sensors providing validated biomechanical analytics for movement, and a wide array of the latest in the Internet of Healthy Things.

And there was no shortage of hot topics and remarkable speakers in the Summit Room. Some of the highlights included:

Eric Taub, contributing writer with The New York Times, brought together experts from Guardant Health and Philips to discuss advancements and groundbreaking new treatments needed to fight the infamous “Big C”.
HealthiMation’s all-star team gave us an exciting behind-the-scenes tour and launched the first-ever diabetes app blending evidence-based info with digital health technology, entertainment-caliber animation, personal human interaction and interaction learning.
The world renowned Dr. Mehmet Oz revealed the results of a groundbreaking, national sleep study, assessing sleep habits of our country utilizing connected devices. He was then joined by industry experts to discuss important issues surrounding sleep technology and what lies ahead in discovering new solutions to solve this ever-present sleep epidemic.
Dr. Daniel Kraft, Dr. Ashish Atreja and Dr. Michael Nova took our stage to discuss a new blend of knowledge (human biology, behavior, genetics, environment, data science, computation) which will spur more effective ways to prolong health and treat disease.
David Inns, CEO of GreatCall, introduced and shared the emotional, inspiring world premiere of a segment of “Through Your Eyes”, a series of dramatic short films on how technology is impacting aging in America, created through a competition sponsored by GreatCall. This film gave us a closer look at the people we innovate for and an opportunity to see how what we do matters, especially through their eyes.
Experts from Crisis Text Line, Seniorlink and Novartis helped us discover how messaging will ignite radical change in the industry by allowing health systems to leverage a resource that is ready, willing and able to vastly improve quality and lower costs.
Dr. Arshya Vahabzadeh, Dr. Justin Barad, Dr. Brennen Spiegel and Matthew Stoudt lead us through exciting live immersive demonstrations...the latest in virtual surgical training to evidence-based therapeutic VR integrated within clinical settings.
