Charles never strays far from his engineering roots and plays a hands-on role in the product development, engineering and innovation at Lose It!
Before founding Lose It!, Charles was Technologist in Residence at General Catalyst, where he worked to identify new investment opportunities in mobile and cloud computing. Prior to joining General Catalyst, Charles co-founded Onfolio, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2005. There he served as VP, Engineering, responsible for all product development. At Microsoft, Charles oversaw the development and engineering of Windows Live Writer, which was originally created at Onfolio.
Charles was the first employee at Allaire Corporation, which went public and was acquired by Macromedia in 2001. At Allaire, Charles led the engineering and product development of ColdFusion, Allaire’s flagship product. Charles stayed on at Macromedia as Director of Engineering responsible for the continued development of ColdFusion as a strategic Macromedia product.
Charles earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College.
