Heather Kam is currently a Crisis Counselor Trainer and Head of Training Product for Crisis Text Line, which has processed over 26 million messages in three years and is one of the first “big data for good” orgs. She’s helped scale the training program to triple its original volume by strategically automating processes and launching a roleplay simulator that is available 24/7 to trainees. Heather earned a B.A. in Historical Studies at the University of Texas at Dallas and has a law degree from Brooklyn Law School. Her prior positions include recruiting in the legal field and working for Bryan A. Garner, editor-in-chief of Black’s Law Dictionary. She believes in serial commas, is always looking to improve user experience, and does pretty much whatever her cat tells her.
