Jan Kimpen is Chief Medical Officer at Philips, a position he has held since January 2016.

He joined the University Medical Center Utrecht, one of the largest healthcare organizations in the Netherlands, in 1997 as professor and chairman of Pediatrics, and became President of the Board in 2009.

At UMC Utrecht, Jan strengthened ties with the world-renowned Netherlands Cancer Institute at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital (NKI-AVL) and the Netherlands Pediatric Oncology Center. He has been the driving force behind partnerships with Philips and Eindhoven University of Technology, where he is a member of the strategic advisory board Health.

Jan supports Philips in its integrated approach to coordinated care across the health continuum, focusing on value-based care solutions that deliver better patient outcomes at lower costs.

In his role as Chief Medical Officer he works closely with the company’s global network and medical thought leaders – placing deep clinical insights and a people-focused approach at the heart of the Philips proposition.

His experience forging partnerships in the public healthcare sector provides a strong foundation to expand and deepen Philips’ cooperation agreements with the numerous public and private stakeholders in the healthcare industry.

Jan is married and has two daughters. He enjoys hiking, running, books and modern art.
