Matt Thomas is vice president and general manager for Medtronic’s Pain Stimulation & Early Interventions business. Matt was instrumental in the launch of IntellisTM, the world’s smallest implantable neurostimulator. Intellis provides patients with high-dose and low-dose therapy for long-term pain relief.

Matt joined Medtronic in 2002 as a product manager for deep brain stimulation. In 2005, he moved to the Diabetes business to launch the first sensor enabled insulin pump.

He joined Spine in 2010 as vice president of market development and education, later taking leadership of the Interventional Spine business including marketing, business development, U.S. sales, and R & D.

Matt’s first medical device experience was with Sonic Innovations where he worked as a product manager leading to a successful IPO in 2000. After leaving Sonic, Matt co-founded HyperX, a technology company serving early stage med-tech clients. He also had roles at American Express & Cap Gemini consulting.
