Ryan Lakin is Abbott’s Divisional Vice President of Product Development for Neuromodulation. He joined Abbott in September 2018.
Mr. Lakin is responsible for leading global R&D in the Neuromodulation division to develop life-changing, customer-centric solutions that are grounded in science to improve the lives of people with chronic conditions.
Ryan joined Abbott from Becton Dickinson (BD) where he served as Vice President of Research & Development and Business Development. He has dedicated his career to improving the lives of people globally including his time at Zimmer Biomet and Shriners Hospitals for Children. He has developed and commercialized a broad set of technologies across implantable devices, wearable solutions, digital health, and high-volume disposables.
Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering from Syracuse University and his Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Kentucky. Mr. Lakin serves on the Advisory Board for the Department of Bioengineering at Rice University.
