He holds degrees in teaching (elementary education), early childhood education and educational psychology and he teaches at TCNJ. He coordinates the Bologna Ragazzi Digital Prize in cooperation with the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and is the founder of the Dust or Magic Institute and the Mediatech Foundation, a model non-profit community technology center based in a public library. For ten years, he covered children’s tech for the New York Times; he plays trumpet in a Dixieland jazz band, and is the father of two daughters.
